Everest Cycling Challenge

snowboard rei

Everesting is a mountain climbing challenge that requires riders to climb a single hill continuously, unlike other challenges. You climb the same hill and descend the same hill until you reach Mount Everest. This activity, also known as vEveresting is performed on Zwift's virtual reality platform.

Hells 500 created the Everesting Challenge. It started when a group of adventure junkies brainstormed the idea for an endurance event. Lachlan, a Pro Cycling Team member and rider of EF Pro Cycling Team is one of the group members. He held the world record of the fastest Everesting ride in 7 hours and is now the fastest. He also holds records for fastest Everesting ride using FSA/Vision equipped CannondaleSuperSix Disc and fastest ride on Metron40 disc brakes.

It is a popular choice for cyclists and athletes. Because there are fewer vehicles involved it is safer and the weight is carried in shorter segments. Some riders ride the Everesting Challenge to train for their own endurance races. Others prefer to run their race on a treadmill. Some have done their run on an at home route during a quarantine period.

Nima Javaheri broke the Everesting world record in March 2022. He reached 38.703m elevation on La Croisette (France). He ran at a weight of 260 watts. This is about the same power as running a marathon. He also completed the longest "free vertical ascent" of any Everesting rider.

While Everesting may seem like a challenge that is beyond your normal abilities, it's actually pretty easy. Zwift allows you to create your own Everesting virtual ride, or you can simply ride your favorite hill from home. Strava, or other GPS tracking devices can be used to record your achievement. You can also do the Everesting on your trainer on a gravel road.

The Everesting Challenge (also known as vEveresting) is a unique endurance race for individuals. It was inspired originally by the COVID19 global pandemic. Fewer than 9,000 people in the world have ever attempted Everesting. The official Everesting website lists the achievements of all those who have done an Everesting attempt. The site also contains the official Mount Everest challenge records, as well as an Everesting Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame lists the names of Everesters who were the most famous, those who completed the longest Everestings, as well as the length of the most successful Everestings.

One of the earliest everesting attempts was done by George Mallory, the grandson of a famous British explorer. Mallory completed the Everesting while riding a bicycle. He climbed 8,848m which is equivalent to the height of the tallest peak in the world. Mallory safely returned home in 1995. Mallory also cycled Mount Donna Buang in Australia's Mount Everest range and held the record of the fastest Everesting ride.

Another Everesting, which you can do online via Zwift or with your trainer, is a virtual one. Many mountains are available in the Hudson Valley for those who wish to take part in a physical everesting.

How does the sport of parasailing differ from parachuting?

Para-gliding allows you to fly above the ground with a harness attached by a small sail. The harness allows you to fly. It keeps you safe when you're falling through the air.

You don't need any equipment to fly. You simply attach yourself to the sail. You then take off. As you rise in altitude, the wind pulls against the sail. This causes it to lift you.

You glide along the ground and keep moving forward. Your momentum will propel you forward until the cable ends. You let go of the cable and you return to earth.

Reattach your sails when you're ready for a new start.

Parasailing continues to grow at a rapid pace. More than 1 million people participated in parasailing in 2013. It was almost double the number that did so in 2008.
